Visitor Visa

Visit Visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is required for foreign nationals who wish to enter Canada for a temporary visit, such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or attending business meetings or conferences.

To apply for a Visit Visa, the following steps should be followed:

  • Determine if you need a visa: Depending on your country of citizenship, you may need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada.

  • Complete the application: You will need to provide personal information, travel details, and supporting documents such as a passport, proof of financial support, and proof of ties to your home country.

  • Pay the fee: The application fee for a Canada visit visa is currently CAD $100 per person. The fee is non-refundable, even if your application is denied.

  • Submit the application: You can submit your application online or in person at a Visa Application Centre (VAC). You may also need to provide biometric information and attend an interview at the VAC.

  • Wait for a decision: The processing time for a Canada visit visa can vary depending on the country of citizenship and the time of year. In general, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to receive a decision on your application.
